This magnificent water color shows the principal mosque of the old Mughal capital city of Shahjahanabad (now Delhi). Its majestic eastern gateway faces the Lal Qila (Red Fort), the principal residence of the Mughal Emperor's. Construction of the Jama Masjid was started in 1644 by Shah Jahan, the builder of the world famous Taj Mahal, and completed in 1658 with the help of five thousand artisans.
